What I Love about India

What I Love about India

Everyone has a unique perspective and isn’t afraid to express it.
A person’s worth isn’t measured by the amount of STUFF he consumes.
Transcending the physical world is expected.
Every person I’ve met has tried to help me.
Nature and her creatures have intrinsic value.
Interesting spaces in ancient sites aren’t roped off.
The natural world glows in the morning and evening.
Poverty isn’t something to fear, but something to change.
Complexity of flavor and simplicity of ingredients are the norm.
Language matters less than meaning.
Color and pattern beautify experience.

Things take a long time and then happen suddenly.

  17. I feel like no matter how hard it may be, you are the true holder of your own self happiness. You get what you give, so don't take anything for granted.

  21. The world they live seems to be one in which you live day by day, not living for the future alone.

  22. I think it surprised me how nice people were to you because here not all the time are people nice to foreigners especially now. This shows how wrong and divided the U.S can be.

  23. The fact the amount of money or stuff a man owns does not matter there due to the fact that today in the world if you dont have money or a lot to offer you will be treated poorley and very rarely helped unlike in india where the poor are helped and not looked down upon. Another topic that surprised me was that they left nature intact, in many areas around the world nature is torn down to make more space as human population is going and in need for more space. This topic compared to our practices and the rest of the worlds, puts our and the rest of the worlds practices to shame. This is how the world should be.

  25. What surprised you? The tranquility of the area seems surprising and that it would be more chaotic.
What are you reminded of in your own experience with this entry? A place that in the mountains that has trees seemed boring to me until I went into the forest itself listening to everything. The detail of the sights and sounds grew and though it was simple it was amazing.
What would you like to know more about. Maybe how the people react to tourists.

  26. What surprised me is that ancient sites aren't roped off or guarded because from experience governments like to control what happens to ancient sites so they can best preserve them. I would like to know to what extent they are available to the public.

  27. Something that surprised me was the fact that most popular ancient cities are free rein to anyone who would like to visit. This differs from american customs where almost everything has a boarder or barrier. I would like to know more about why they do this instead of preservation.

  28. What surprised you? The writing of this is very calming and I feel like Iḿ also in in India with the vivid descriptions.

What are you reminded of in your own experience with this entry? This reminds me of just a small road trip even to another state and just everyone is chilling and enjoying the moment with close ones or the strangers around us.

What would you like to know more about? I would like to know if you would visit again.

  31. I like the feeling you expressed about poverty. It is so true that it shouldn't be a fear but something we should change. This reminds of what we should all be doing. Not being fearful but instead doing something to change the world and society we live in today.
